The question of -whether state funds would be available if only a nurse was employed, was brought to Dr. Chichester’s attention. He answered that the state funds are available only if both a nurse and a sanitation officer are employed. Otherwise the county must carry the full salary of the nurse.
Sheep claims from Roland Welch, Miss Virginia Tapp and Puller Hughes were examined and payment for the losses, approved.
P. B. Coldiron, resident engineer, .asked that a public road hearing be called for the April meeting. A motion was made and carried to call the Piedmont Road Bond. A letter was read by Board member Campbell from State Delegate Frost, concerning the Board’s proposal to go on record as opposing -the driver’s license test which one must take annually after they have reached a certain age. The letter stated that a bill to this effect has passed the House and is now before the Senate.
W. C. Campbell was appointed a committee of one to fix the step inside of the court house. Dangerous, in its present condition, the step will probably be eliminated, the hole filled in and an extra step will be added outside of the Court House.
C. Ennis Brown was re-employed to investigate sheep claims. His salary was set at $50 a month, the job to be effective as long as the funds are available from the Dog Tax Fund. Any person who has a sheep killdd is asked to notify Game Warden C. Ennis Brown.
The jail report was read and accepted. It was moved, seconded and carried that the roof to the chicken house at the jail be replaced.
Various accounts against the county payable out of the General Fund were presented, examined and approved
by the Board of Supervisors.
