Board of Supervisors

Hold March Meeting

In the March meeting of the Rappahannock Board of Supervisors, held in the Court House, Wednesday, March 3, Dr. P. M. Chichester, Assistant Director of the local Health Service, discussed the Health Budget for 1954-55, various sheep claims were heard,,and many routine matters were discussed. Dr. Chichester explained that the necessity of having an increase in the local support of the Health Department, was a result of the decreased Federal funds available to the organization. The called-for increase of $800 can be spread over a three year period with a budget this year of $1917 instead of the previous $1650. Dr. Chichester went on to explain the manner in which the increase had been proportionately spread over the 98 counties in the state.
