So, while we need to find a way of reducing future losses from agricultural support programs, I believe we are justified in moving careful^ not only forthe sake of the farmer but to avoid a repetition of what happened in the 1929-32 period when a drop of 54.7 per cent in national income and a cut back of 47 percent in industrial production. Our goal should be, as the President said in his economic message, “an increasing national income, shared equitably among those who contribute to its growth, and achieved in dollars of stable buying power.”

John wrote by the selective method, that is he chose certain' signs and sayings of Jesus to prove Him as the Son of God that all who reads his writing might believe and be saved. Here is the 11th chapter he presents the last of the signs and also another of the famous sayings. The raising of Lazarus is the greatest and climatical of all Jesus’ piracies outside of His own resurrection.

The first 27 verses of this chapter relates the sickness of Lazarus, the anxiety of the sisters and the general incidents leading up to the final sign that of the raising of Lazarus from the dead after he has been in the tomb 4 days and decomposition has already set in.

The remainder of the chapter tells the story of the raising of Lazarus and what effect it had upon Ihose present. There was as usual a division among the people, some believed while others ran to tell the Pharisees Tale bearers.

Now Jesus had often visited in this home and the three, Mary, Martha, and Lazarus loved Him and He in turn loved them. It was perfectly natural for tjiem to think of Jesus first when disaster struck. They knew if He were present, death would not occur. So they sent word suggesting Him to come to their aid, but did not make it manditatory, that is they left the decision up to Jesus which is as it should be.

After receiving the news of the sickness, Jesus chose to remain two days more before going to Lazarus.
