Aylor Found Guilty

——In the Circuit Court of Rappahannock. County, March 15, Henry Aylor, indicted for a felony (manslailghter) was found guilty by the jury and sentenced to 6 months in jail and a $100 fine.
This case of the Commonwealth vs. Henry Aylor, for shooting and killing Gene Williams, was heard by the Trial Justice Court in November, said offense having occurred on October 29, and sent on to the grand jury, hence to the Circuit Court. , ^
In Monday's proceedings, the' £cs: cased was arraigned and pleaded not guilty of the indictment. The case of the Commonwealth represent-^ ed by Commonwealth Attorney Yfc* F. Moffett, Jr* was presented fol - lowed by the arguments of the. « counsel, represented by James W. Fletcher, attorney for the defense. Having heard the evidence and arguments and received instructions from Circuit Judge Rayner V. Snead, the jury was sent t®, its chamber to consult upon a verdict.
R. E. Wood, foreman of the jury, presented the decision: “We the jury find the defendant guilty as charged and set his punishment at $100 fine and 6 months in jail.” Other members of the all male jury included Jack Weaver/ A. M. Priest, C. H. Thornhill, R. E. Wood, John Woodard, Gilbert TJpdike, Charles Foster, Charles Corder, Herbert Foster, W. A. Moore, Jr., R. F. Gore, and P. M. Finks.
Immediately the counsel for the defense moved the court to set aside the verdict as being contrary to the law and evidence. Thursday, March 18 was set as the date for the continuation of the argument.
