and cleansing again of the Temple. The remainder of the chapter deals with the coming of the Greeks and their desire to see Jesus and His answer to them.

Now John has chosen 3 things and presented them to us in this 12 chap-, ter which is very important to each of us. The Supper at Bethany, the triumphal entry and the coming of the Greeks. The Supper took place 6 days before the passover and it is_ here we can get the contrast between Judas and his attitude of selfishness and the attitude of Mary and her love inspired devotion. While Mary is sympathetic and understandng, Judas is resentful and critical. Mary understood, as no other person, the sorrow of the heart of Jesus and so she took the ointment and anointed Him with it so He would know she understood. We see this revealed in Jesiis own words in verses 7-8. Some sought to kill Lazarus also because his return from the dead had caused some to believe on Jesus. This 4 is a tragic revelation, but it is always true when a person gets resentful about something, they take their spite out on the person whom they think caused the trouble when usually the trouble really lies within their own lives. This hostility as begun here is only a mere revelation of the hostility against God, by the world, as it is revealed in Christ. The world is ever trying to get rid of God as' Christ revealed Him.
