This morning at 10:30 o'clock there was solemnized at the Baptist church in this place a most brilliant October marriage. The contracting parties were Miss Annie Washington Jones* » the accomplished daughter of Mr. and . Mrs.. Jones, .of our town, an<L_ Rev. S. C. Gopton, of Anniston, Ali. The ceremony was performed by Rev. J. B. Turpin of Charlottesville, assisted by Rev. R. Atwell Tucker. The best man was Mr. J. R. Turpin, of King William. The maid of honor was Miss Bertha Miller, a cousin of the bride. The ushers were Messrs. J. Frank Jones, a brother of the bride, John A. Keyser, Gifford Miller and H. T. Louthan. The church was beautifully decorated with evergreen festoons and choice flowers.
Miss Mattie Wood presided at the organ and rendered Mendelsshori’6 wedding march as the bridal party entered the church and took their - stand beneath the beautiful marriage bell. The church was crowded with friends of the contracting panties from all pants of the county.
