Chombing on a free sucker, with an occasional timeout for some free chocolate milk, (Royal Dairy) these persons looked over the new arrangement and declared it to their liking.
All through the day free prizes were given out, with the first one, a door prize of a basket of groceries going to Jack Racer. The other prizes were won by the following persons: Mrs. Luther Payne, a bucket of paint;* Mrs. John Eubaank, a small self service push cart; Mrs. George Davis, Jr., i Royal Crown cooler; Mrs. Jonas Alther. electric coffee percolater; VV. H. Lyne, Stokleys groceries; Mrs. Guy Burke, giant cap pistol; Mrs. Carson Anderson, Pyrex dish; Mrs. Cora Lillard, picnic hamper; Mrs. Edward Clark, aluminum roaster; Miss Frances Atkins, electric iron; Mrs. John A. ,Keyser, gallon ice cream; Mrs. Mack Weathers, gallon ice cream.
An even larger ;crowd had gathered by the time of the announcement of the deluxe prized— a bicycle. No on* claimed the first number called, though Mr. Lea waited 10 minutes for the number to come in—on the second drawing. Miss Betty Jean Settle, was declared to be the luckiest person of the day, and was told to “ride it home.”
