Mrs. Robert L. Massie had as her guests for several days this week Frank H. Peyton of Venice, California. Mr. Peyton, 93 years old, came ; to Rappahannock County from Front Royal, when he was 2 days old, when battle was ^ raging in Warren County. He was reared in the county and loves to return whenever possible. Mr. Peyton telL many interesting stories of the post civil war days and of his early years in the county. Having traveled extensively, he has seen many sights and has gained many friends. His plans are to make a trip to the Holy Land.
RAPP’K garden club MEETS WITH MRS. HITE . The Rappahannock Garden Club met in the home of Mrs.C. R. Hite, July 27, with 11 members and 1 visitor present.
Mrs. George Davis, chairman for the month, gave a very interesting talk on Short Cut in Gardening.
The arrangement winners were Mrs. W.‘ R. Williamson, first, and Mrs. Frank Moffett, second.
