Walter K. Butler

Sperryville citizens mourn the death of Walter Kemper Butler, 24, who was killed when his car crashed into a bridge abutment * near Woodville, late Thursday or early Friday, of last week. Young Butler’s car was plunged into a shallow creek, and as it was not clearly visibly from the highway, was not discovered until Friday morning, when several children noticed it.f

Young Butler attended Scrabble Elementary School and Peabody High School in Petersburg. He served 18 months in Korea, and has been out of the Army little over a year when death occurred. He had been employed at the American Viscose Corporation for several weeks.
