With the opening of hunting season, the State Highway Department today appealed to hunteta not to damage highway signs.

Road sign vandalism costs automobile users about $72,500 a year in highway revenue, according' to a study made by the Virginia Council of Highway Investigation and Research at the University of Virginia.
