SCRABBLE SCHOOL
Third meeting of the Scrabble School P-TA installed the 1936 officers. The chairman of this affair was Mrs. B. B. Austin, teacher in the school. The new officers were as following: - Mrs. Roberta Jackson, president; Mr. C. C. Lewis, vice-president; Mrs. Estelle Dennis, secretary ; Mrs. Lucy Childs, ass’t secretary; Mrs. Lottie Aylor, treasurer.
The speaker for the occasion was Mr. M. M. Marshall, who was presented by Miss. C. A/ Williams, who gave us a most interesting and factual address. The. program consisted of the following:
Devotionals, Sperryville choir; Prayer- Mr. Gaylord Butler; Presentation of Speaker, Miss C. A. Williams; Address, Mr. M. M. . Marshall; Installation of officers, Rev. C. A. Sanford Solo, "My Desire”, Mr. C. C. Lewis; Instrumental Numbers, Mr. John Haney Sr., John Haney Jr.; Remarks by the Parents and Friends. Refreshments were served by Mrs. Lucy Childs and Mrs. Lottie Aylor.
