Unofficial results showed l^r. Carter polling 4,87{i votes* to 4,035 for Joseph R. Nutt, Jrj of Staunton. Mr. Carter an attorney and former mayor of Sta^in. ton makes his home at Fisherville. He ran on the Democratic ticket while Mr. Nutt, a fonjner Ohio state senator, entered |the race as an independent, but had strong Republican backing. !
