Funeral Service Held
At Sonny Side For
Charles W. Keyser
Funeral service* were held Saturday afternoon, November 12, for Charles Wood. Keyser, 61, who died Thursday moraine at his home in Linden. For several yean he had been suffering with a hip injury and in ill health.
The graveside services were conducted; in the family burial ground' near Sunny Side, the old Wood home. Oscar Turner and the Reverend John Divcn officiated.
Though Mr. Keyser was well known as a farmer and orchardist in Rappahannock, Warren, and Fauquier Counties, he will be remembered longest for his gift as the silent philanthropist. To the children at his home church, Oakley; to his farm laborers; to a legion, still unknown, he was the Santa Claus who stopped to help but did not wait for thanks.
Mr. Keyser was bofn near Washington, the ton of the late Hubert and Lula Wood Keyser. He was a graduate of Washington High School and Virginia Polytechnic Institute.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mary Keyser of Linden; a brother, Aubrey Keyser of Wash- ington; four sisters, Miss Irene Keyser of Washington, Mrs. Clark Jones of Flint Hill,' Mrs. Kent Woolfolk of Louisa and Mrs. David Stanvcr of New York. He is also survived by three nieces.
