LeliS' Gentry was selected as j the 4-H’er that best exemplified good citizenship and was thereby awarded this medal.
Frances Walker and Glenn Updike were recognized as jiunior leaders who had contributed greatly to their fellow 4-H’ers.
The concluding event of the program Friday night was an achievement ladder, which showed, by means of banners, wtyle 4- j H’ers explained over 100 j contests and awards availably on county, district, state and j national levels. These 4-H’erS included Sue Many and Marvin Bradford, III, on the county! level; Lee Thornton, Jr. and Paula Miller, on the district level; and Jean Lillard and Walter B.j Kilby on the state level; with Frances Walker and Granville S Fox on national contests and £ wards.
Glenn Updike, master of ceremonies for the evening, closed the program with the club pledge; and motto. Shirley Smoot read the devotionals and Frances Wajlker,
with Mrs. Willie Gentry leajd in', group singing. 'Refreshments of cider land cookies were served following the program. The Sperryville Juice Plant donated the cider. The 4-H’ers wish to thank j the 4-H leaders, parents, judges, High School and others who helped to make the achievement prografn a success. , L
