In the State Senate Orange is s part of the district represented by Senator H. H. Purcell of Louisa. Besides Orange the district includes Louisa, Goochland and Spotsylvania' counties with the city of Fredericksburg, a total population of 74^42.

Add Rappahannock County f
A plan worked outv by theUniversity of Virginia; Bureau of Public Administration, would add Rappahannock County with a population of 5,368 to' this legislative district to bring' the population to 42,543. In the senatorial district' Goochland County with 9206 would be taken out and its place taken by Fluvanna, population 7.237, Culpeper with 15,038, Stafford with 16,876, would be added to make a total of 92,508. ! It is by no means sun* that this plan will be adopted, bet it has some weight. However, it is sure to create a mighty hassle when it reaches the General Assembly.
In any event whatever the General Assembly does must meet approval by the federal court. • :
