HAY There is still some movement of hay from the Valley to Baltimore, Hagerstown, lower Pennsylvania and West Virginia areas, but western shippers are handling most of the northern markets presently. Movement locally, however, can be expected to pick up. . There isn't much chance of hay prices going down. The Virginia supply is 6 per cent below last year. If you’ve got good hay and can move it now, it may pay you to do so. Conversely, if you’re in the market and have to buy, and if you can find good hay, buy now. Prices: No. 2 Leafy Alfalfa, $35 to $40; No. 2 Timothy, $30; First cutting Alfalfa, $30 to $32.
