Shooting Safety Hints

Now that the hunting season is here. Dr. Mack I. Shanholtz, State Health Commissioner, offers these shooting safety suggestions, in hope of preventing gun accidents: 1. Treat every gun with the

respect due a loaded gun. 2. Unload every gun before

carrying it into the home'

or camp. 3. Keep gun barrel and action

clean and unobstructed.

4. Always carry the gun with

muzzle direction under

control, and on safety. 5. Be sure of your target

before shooting. 6. Avoid horseplay. 7. Never climb a tree,

through a fence, or jump

a ditch with a loaded gun. 8. Never shoot at a smooth,

hard surface or the surface

of water. 9. Don't mix gun powder and
