Interest To Veterans
’ About 3300 Korean veterans in Virginia have only two and a half months in which to take advantage of the special insurance dividend to be paid to those exchanging “R S” insurance policies for policies bearing the letter “W”. This special dividend offer expires Sept. 13, 1963 and applies only to Korean Conflict veterans whose insurance policy nunr ber is preceded by the letters “RS”. To get this special dividend the “RS” policyholder must either:
1. Exchange his “RS” term policy for a “W” policy at, generally, only one-third of the cost he is now paying. Although the “W” term policy cannot be renewed after age 50, protection can be continued by converting to a low cost permanent insurance policy at any time while the term policy is in force; or 2. Convert his “RS” policy to a low cost “W” permanent plan policy. If the “RS” policyholder i takes either of these steps before September 13, 1963 he will receive the special dividend. The dividend averages about $100, depending on the age of the policyholder the length of time he has paid the premiums. Each policyholder of this “RS” insurance received the necessary conversion forms nearly two years ago. Edward M. Mathews, of the Front Royal Office of the Division of War Veterans’ Claims, is in Washington at the Clerk’s Office on 1st and 3rd Monday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and will gladly give more details on this subject or any other matter connected with veteran’s affairs.
