Mrs.' Bertie Susie Jenkins

Mrs. Bertie Susie Jenkins, wife of the late Manuel Moffett Jenkins of Amissville, died Friday, June 28, 1963, in Manassas where she had made her home in recent years. Daughter of the late John W. and Margaret Jenkins, and a native of Rappahannock County, she was 80. She is survived by four sons, James M. Jenkins of Viewtown, Roy T. Jenkins of Amissville, John A. Jenkins of Castleton and Haywood R. Jenkins of Rixeyville; two daughters, Mrs. Nannie Dodson of Manassas and Mrs. Gertie Haines of Vienna; one sister, Mrs. Josie Dodson of Woodville; one brother, John Dodson of Front Royal; 22 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren. A funeral service was held Sunday, June 30, at Amissville Baptist Church, with interment following in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Milton Jenkins, Earl Jenkins, Jerry Dodson, A. C. Corbin, Russell Corbin and Loring Dodson.

Celebrates Brithdfty

Greg Poe, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ronnie Poe, celebrated his seventh birthday Sunday with a family party. Guests included his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Kilby of Culpeper and Mrs. John Poe, and Mr. and Mrs. L.J. Kilby and son Johnny, also of Culpeper. Greg and Debbie Poe are spending this week with Mr. and Mrs. Lester Kilby.

Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Edmond Martin were Mr. and Mrs. Menefee Utz and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Jacobs of Viewtown.

Mrs. Oliver Scott of Alexandria is visiting Mrs. Ed Scott while Mr. Ed Scott is in Alexandria visiting their sons. Franklin Settle had the misfortune to sprain his leg.

Mrs. Lorena Mallory celebrated her birthday on Wednesday the 26th with a cookout and entertained approximately twelve people.

Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Gore were Mrs Suzanne Cook and son, Sonny from Hyattsville, Md.

Miss Ellen Gore returned to Charlottesville on Sunday after spending the week-end with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Richard Gore. Miss Gore is taking nurses training at the University of Charlottesville.

Mrs. Lemuel Parrish and children, Nona Marie and Michael left Monday for their home at Lakeland, Fla. after spending a month with Mr.
