j Mrs. Irvin R. Kilby of' : Sperryville was hostess on 1 Friday evening at a Bridge party at her home. Those playing besides the hostess were Mrs. Mary Botts Quaintance, Mrs. G. Brown Miller, Mrs. Fred Schaefer, Mrs. R. E. Wood, Mrs. R.E, ' Thompsen, Mrs. Roy Reeve and Mrs. C. E. Johnson, Jr. High score prize was awarded to Mrs. Schaefer and second high to Mrs.Johnson.

Callers on Monday morning of Elder and Mrs.Daily were Elder Charles Alderton of Brightwood and David Bridgeman of Tallahassee, Ala. On Monday the Daily’s were overnight guests of Elder and Mrs. Philip Johnson in Strasburg. While there they attended a surprise birthday celebration for ' Charles Stevens on his 88th birthday. On Tuesday Elder and Mrs. Daily were dinner guests of Miss Lena Steed in Luray. Miss Ebba. Hitt who has been ill at her home here is improving and able to be about the house. 4 - Mr. and Mrs. David IV. Chapman, who, spent last week in Richmond as guests of their son and daughter-inlaw Mr. and Mrs.David V. Chapman, Jr. have returned home. Dinner guests on Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. J. Rodes Brown were their son-in-law and daughter the Rev. and Mrs. Paul Thompson and daughter: Ann Rodes of Fork Union and Miss Eda Finks of PSola Mills. Mrs. J. S. Dwyer andfathily spent Thursday and Friday with her parents Mr. and Mrs. D. M. Dwyer. Week-end guests were Mr. and Mrs.J. R. Shade and children of Charlottesville. On Sunday the family group was joined by Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Keyser and children of Winchester.
