~VoIunfie'f*4, Yb fobus -attention on the splendid contributions of more than two million volunteers from all walks of life, of all ages, of every faith and color, all working in their own ways to hasten the day of ultimate victory. The volunteer is considered the heart of any charity and to bring this year’scheme to a fitting climax, a special “Volunteer of the Year" certificate, has been designed and each county in Virginia has been asked to select one volunteer to be given this award. Mrs. Frank Cary of Flint Hill, chairman of the Cancer Crusade for 1963 in Rappahannock County, was selected in this county as "Volunteer of the Year. With a splendid group to help her, over $900 was collected for the crusade here and Rappahannock was one of, if not the first county, to top its goal of $500.
