With perfect sunshine weather and the accurate reporting of the newspapers, radio, and TV that Shenandoah National Park would reward all who came with memories and sights of picturesque mountains massed with autumn colors in their splendor, the crowds came in such staggering numbers as to exceed all previous records and cause Park officials to wonder in amazement just how it could be humanly or physically possible for the limited number of Park rangers and maintenance personnel to handle suclrenor-*mous crowds. And not to be overlooked are the very tired employees of the Virginia SkyLine Company who worked endless hours to serve meals that numbered well into the thousands; but they did take care of the crowds, and with such efficiency as to have no serious complaints, no vehicle
