Last week was the 14th anniversary of The Rappahannock News, but we were so busy and interested in elections we Just forgot all about it and did not have time to celebrate. The first Issue of this paper was published on November 3, 1949, with Lucy Catherine Bowie as publisher. According to that issue, this Is the fifth paper to be published in Rappahannock County The first was “Rappahannock News” begun in 1177; next was the “Blue Ridge Echo’ in 1171} third. “The Call'; and then “The Blue Ridae, Guide” in 1IS6-1936.

Speaking of Weeks, did you know that last week was International Cat Week and this week is Youth Appreciation Week, National Children’s Book Week and National Education Week? Can you think of a better way to celebrate than to take advantage of our and your new Rappahannock County Library?
