of transportation was a norse and buggy. Enroute to investigate, Trooper Wood had an accident in his auto when he skidded in mud and turned over. The late Charles Green owned and operated my garage at the time and he came to Gene’s aid. Charles took him down the highway as far as the bridge in search of the driver who evidently "out ran” them for they never found him. However Charles put his mechanical crew to work on Gene’s car and had him back on the road in record time.
Speaking of Troopers....Halloween night Charles Jenkin6 Jokingly told Trooper Buntirt who had his car parked on the street near the Jenkins home, he was going to soap his windows there. The Joke was on Charles though, for someone else did soap his windows. Charles figured Buntin would think he did it so he had to see that it was gotten off. Guess Buntin never knew his windows got the treatment.
