Ernest Ludd Jenkins
Ernest Ludd Jenkins of Slate Mills died Nov. 7 at University of Virginia Hospital. He was 57. Son of Mrs. Nora Sisk Jenkins of Slate Mills and the late Ludd Jenkins, besides his mother, he is survived by six sisters, Mrs. Meade Nichols of Bealeton, Mrs. Sam Fincham of Peola Mills, Mrs. Charlie Jenkins of Sperryvill^ Mrs. Jesse Jenkins of Gainsville, Mrs. Venie Jenkins of Culpeper and Mrs. Robert Leake of Fredericksburg, and four brothers, Conner Jenkdns of Slate Mills, Haywood Jenkins of Sperryville, Cooper Jenkins of Culpeper and Egbert Jenkins of Remington. A funeral service was held at 2:30 p. m. Sunday in the Geest funeral chapel, with interment following in E11 a n Methodist Cemetery. Elder Maxwell Butler of Luray conducted the last rites. Mr. and Mrs. Edward Welch were Sunday callers of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Thompson in Front Royal and also visited Mrs. Welch’s niece Miss Dolores' Thompson in the Warren Memorial Hospital. Mr. J. L. Ashton, a representative of the Gideon Society, gave an interesting talk during the Sunday School period at both Willis Chapel and the Flint Hill Methodist Church on last Sunday.
