Canoeing and Soil and Water Conservation Merit Badges. Mr. Paul Nichols is the Scout master of Tropp 36. Scouts of the Washington Troop 64 receiving awards were: Page Moffett, Personal Fitness and Reading Merit Badges; Ned Jones, Personal Fitness, Bookbinding and Citizenship in the Nation Merit Badges.' Personal Fitness Badges also were awarded John H. Williams. Skippy Giles received his Firemanship and David Palmer his Citizenship in the National merit Badge. Troop 64 has as its Scoutmaster Judge T. C. Lea, Jr. who presented these badges. Sperryville Troop 65*s other awards were First Aid Merit Badge and Animal Industry to C. E. Dodson. Citizenship in the National and Animal Industry went to Roy Reeve and Animal Industry to Leslie Titchenell, Mike Titchenell, Tim Kilby, Bill Mundy and George Woodard. Mr. Donald Gore is the Scoutmaster of Troop 65 and has Mr. John Eubank, Jr., as his assistant, Mr. Eubank presented these badges.

Robert Edward Jenkins

Robert Edward Jenkins of Culpeper, died Friday, May 8, 1964, at McGuire Veterans Hospital in Richmond following a brief illness. Son of the late George B. Jenkins and Mary Sisk, his wife, and a native of Rappahannock County he was 72. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Virgie Coughlin Jenkins; a step-son, Paul E. Karnes of Culpeper; and two sisters, Mrs. Clarence Jenkins of Sperryville and Mrs. Fannie Fincham of Vienna. A former resident of Slate Mills, Mr. Jenkins was a retired carpenter and blacksmith. He was a member of Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church. A funeral service was held Sunday, at 2 p.m., in the Geest funeral chapel, the Rev. Park P. Dickerson conducting the last rites. Interment was made in Fairview Cemetery. Pallbearers were Frank E. Jenkins, Chester Jenkins, Eugene Jenkins, Irvin Jenkins, Kenneth Jenkins and Lester Jenkins, V^^"*"^****1
