Recent visitors of Mrs. Claude Sparks, a patient in the Culpeper Memorial Hospital, were her brother James Anderson of Broad Run, the Rev. Park Dickerson of Griffinsburg, Mr. and" Mrs. James Chadwell and Harry Dunn of Haymarket. Mrs. Sparks is expected to return to her home today. Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Burke entertained at Mothers’ Day dinner and the birthday of Mrs. Burke’s mother Mrs. Frank Butler. Others attending were Mr. and Mrs. Freddie Butler and daughter Paula, Linwood Smith of Boston, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Butler and daughter Carolyn Sue of Arlington, and the Rev. Park Dickerson of Griffinsburg. Mrs. Harry Lillard is reported to be improving after a several weeks’ illness with the flu. On Saturday, Alumni Day at the University of Richmond, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Hash and children Happy and Reva Clare attended the Alumni Luncheon and barbecue and the baseball game between the College of William and Mary and the University of Richmond. Randolph Hash Is a member1 W the tJT <5f RYBaseball team and played that day. Mrs. Herbert Hash, Mrs. Mabel Yowell, and Mrs. George Beard of Culpeper spent Monday in Washington, D. C. Fred Jenkins, who lives with his son-in-law and daughter Mr. and Mrs. John Jenkins entered Culpeper Memorial Hospital on Wednesday where his condition is reported to be satisfactory.,

I The Slate Mills Baptist Church members plan to serve lunch at the Auction Sale to be held May 23 at 10:00 a. m. at the property of Mrs. Ann U. Kilby on route 707 between Boston and Slate Mills. Any food contributed for the church will be appreciated. Miss Betty Dodson, daughter of Mrs. Maude Racer started work May 11 for the Telephone Company. Mr. and Mrs. John Keys and five sons of Waynesboro moved into their trailer on the Rabbit Patch in Slate Mills on May 2. Recent guests for the day of the Keys were Mr. and Mrs. Earl Keys, Mr.
