Library Lines
About 605 persons visited the Virginia Museum’s Artmobile with its exhibition of rare ancient Chinese Art and the High School’s exhibition of work done by its Art classes last week. It was a privilege to have the Artmobile visit the county and the Rappahannock Library made a fitting background for the excellent works of art by County students. Much credit is due them and their instructor Mrs. Christine Johnston. New and old visitors were pleased and gratified with the newly reorganized Library. The well ordered book shelves and their contents received much favorable comment. All who assisted in making this Exhibition possible are to be commended for their efforts.

This year it is the farmers’ responsibility to file a report on the number of acres grown or diverted under the 1965 Wheat and Feed Grain Programs. At least 25% of the farms signed up under the Wheat and Feed Grain Programs will be spot-checked. If there is any doubt as to the acres grown or diverted, we are offering measurement service at the farmers’ expense. The charge is $2.00 per farm plus $.70 per acre with a minimum charge of $6.00. This could be the cheap est service you ever received because if you are spot-checked and have overplanted or have not diverted enough acreage, you forfeit all payments. There is no chance to adjust as in previous years. Farmers who have not applied for ACP assistance in 1965 should do so as soon as possible. Those who have completed practices should report them to the ASCS office.
