Kilby and daughter Jackie of Culpeper were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. George W. Thornhill and Mrs. Vinda Kilby. Mr. and Mrs. Robert E. McLaughlin and sons Stephen and Bobby and Mr. McLaughlin’s4 mother spent the week-end at their farm "Mounterraine” near Slate Mills. On Sunday Mr. Dennis’daughter and son-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Vernon D. Henderson and son of Fredericksburg and his son and daughter-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Warren E. Dennis and family of Alexandria arrived to spend the day. Sunday afternoon all drove to Pelham Manor where they enjoyed a barbecue supper on the lawn at the home of another son Richard C. Dennis and family. The Rev. and Mrs. Dott Bryan and son Kyle of Novum were Mother’s Day dinner guests of Lt. Col. and Mrs. Norman Wilbur and daughter Norma Lee and Mrs. Iris Brooke. Other guests were Mrs. Brooke’s daughter and son-in-law and Mrs. Eddie Johnson and sons Paul, Phillip and Mark. The Brotherhood and the W. M.S. of the Slate Mills Baptist Church will meet Wednesday night, May 12, at 7:30 p.m. at the Church. All are welcome. Recent guests of the Rev. W. B. Dennis were his son-inlaw and daughter S/Sgt. and Mrs. Harvey Thomas Smoot and five children of Dover, Del. Sgt. Smoot is being transferred to Panama June first.
