With the close of school just around the corner, and summer vacations coming up, most local students can soon enjoy a well-earned rest from their bookwork. Many of them will find summer jobs, especially the high-school graduates preparing for college. Regardless of the reason for taking a job, students and graudates should be sure to have their social security account number cards ready to show their employers the very first day at work. In issuing this reminder today, Mrs. Hazel F. Daly, of the Winchester Social Security District Office, said that it doesn’t matter whether the student works one day or all year-his employer must have the social security number of each worker. This is true of any worker, whether full time or not, and regardless of age, since the employer is required to have this information for social security reporting and for income tax purposes.
