Sperryville Scouts
Attend Camporee
Boy Scout Troop #65 of Sperryville attended a spring camporee of Shenrapawa District held at the Thunderbird Ranch in the Fork District of Warren County during the past week-end, May 14-16. Thirteen members from the Sperryville Troop attended, along with some 190 other scouts and scouters from Warren, Page and Shenandoah counties. In the competitive events the Sperryville Troop placed second in a tent peg relay, for which they received a plaque. Highlights of the week-end included a night maneuver FrF day evening, fishing, competative events, and a campfire Saturday evening which was attended by friends and parents. Sunday morning a worship service was led by the Rev. Layton Mauze, Front Royal Presbyterian Church. Other troops participating in the camporee were Troops 4, 52 and 53 of Front Royal; Troop and Post 7 and Troop 100, Luray; Troops 5 and 57, Strasburg; and Troop 51, New Market. Scouts of Troop #65 were Roy Reeve, George Woodard, Tim Kilby, C. E. Dodson, Bill Kilbjj Charles Thomas, RoyThoma^ Timmy Raymond, Terry Raymond, Mike Titchenell, Maurie Nichols, Jimmy Orange, and Leslie Titchenell. They were accompanied by Scoutmaster B. G. Titchenell and son Bobby.
