Fifty Attend
State Fire School
A four-day state fire school is being held in Amissville. Classes and demonstrations were held Saturday and Sunday, June 2b and 27 and additional classes will be held the weekend of July 10 and 1L Certified state instructors conduct the classes which have been attended by about fifty firemen. Subjects under study are breathing apparatus,structural fires and flammable liquids.
Among the instructors and speakers are 1-ire Administrator Willis Burton, C. B. Humphrey of the West Virginia Bureau of Mines, Chief William Slimak and engineer C. F. Flynn of Jefferson Fire Depa rtment, C h i e f Gordon Martin, Annandale and Ft. W. S. Allensworth, Vienna. The classes are open to any fireman who wishes to attend. The school will close with a banquet which will be held July 13 at the Amissville fire hall.
