Proposed Budget
The Rappahannock County Board of Supervisors approved a budget for the coming year totaling $555,809.00, and set the levy at $3.80 at a meeting held Monday in the courthouse. The budget is an increase of $55,320 over the previous year and a ten cent increase in the tax rate. Largest expenditures are for schools and welfare. A major item in the school budget figure is $20,000 which will be paid for land for the expansion of school facilities. An addition in the budget is $500 allotted for the county library operating expense.
