Thar’s rock in them thar hills—As construction continues on the dual lane highway on Route 211 and 522 and the Massie’s Corner intersection problems arise, though not unexpectedly. Rocky hills must be dynamited before grading is possible in areas, and expert Earl Buchanan is on hand to do the job. For this shot on the distant hill, 210 holes were drilled in depths ranging from 12 to 35 feet, and Mr. Buchanan used 8,000 pounds of powder. This charge was detonated Friday afternoon.
