Slate Mills

Mr. and Mrs. Frank White and their son-in-law and daughter Mr. and Mrs. Clay Shelton and children of Fairfax spent Sunday at “Seven Springs Farm.* Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Don Reeves and son Scott of El Paso, Texas arrived June 22, and will stay until July 19. Mr. Reeves who is Mrs. Iris Brooke’s nephew is enroute to Germany for the armed forces. Mrs. George Baber, Jr., and son Brooke have been joined by Mr. Baber and are staying with Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Johnson. The Baber’s have recently been living in Denver. Mrs. Lessie Dwyer of Culpeper, formerly of Slate Mills is under treatment in the Culpeper Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Smith Entertains With Bridge Party

The Washington Bridge Club with guests met Thursday even ing at the home of Mrs. Harry Lee Smith. Playing were Mrs. R. V. Snead, Mrs. T. C. Lea, Mrs. W. H. Massie, Jr., Mrs. Henry M. Keyser, Mrs. F. B. Jocobsen, Mrs. D. D. Miller, Mrs. Louemma Moffett, Mrs. John R. Debergh, Mrs. C. B. Palmer, Mrs. W. F. Moffett, Jr., Mrs. George H. Davis, Jr. and Mrs. Ralph Styer. Prizes were given to Mrs. Moffett, Jr., Mrs. DeBergh, Mrs. Palmer and Mrs. Jacobsen.
