borne twenty colorful and valuable bed covers, all hand made, some woven from flax, cotton and wool grown in this County, were loaned for display. Mrs. Charles Estes and Mrs. T. J. Pillar set up a quilting frajne and many of the implements and effects used in quilting. Mrs. Bernard DahP gren brought in an interesting collection of artifacts loaned by Joe Mills Antiques at Chester Gap. A spinning wheel and hand woven shawl were loaned by Mrs. Geo. L. Taylor. Counterpanes
of many weaves and colors decorated the Library, and were the possessions of Robert Brown, Mrs. C. E. Johnson, Jr., Mrs. John Hand, Virginia Miller, Mrs. Charles Estes, Mrs. John Moore, Miss Printz, Luemma Anderson, Sarah Latham, Miller-Harris family, Dorothy Davis and Mrs Cox, and the Pierce estate of Amissville, Mrs. Raymond, and Mrs. W. C. Campbell. An excellent example of woven rugs was loaned by Mrs. M. B. Fletcher. Several items not related to the textile industry caught the eye of the visitor, such as T. J. Pillar’s artifacts collection. All in all it was a most interesting exhibition, and those who did not see it missed a cultural treat.
