Mrs. Gertrude S. Browning
Mrs. Gertrude Stephenson Browning, 73, wife of Preston M. Browning, Culpeper realtor, died Monday, May 2 at her home High Acre Farm. She was a native of Rappahannock County, daughter of the late William and Cornelia Cabell Stephenson. Mrs. Browning, a member of St. Stephens Episcopal Church, had, been active in church circles, the United Daughters of the Confederacy and the Daughters of the Ameri can Revolution.
She is survived in addition to her husband by a daughter, Mrs. Thomas Ripley of Asheville, N. C.; two sons, Charles Browning of Culpeper and P. M. Browning, Jr. of Chicago; a sister, Miss Annie C. Stephenson and a brother, Harry C. Stephenson both of Woodvllle.
. A funeral service was held Wednesday afternoon at 4 o’clock at St. Stephens Episcopal Church with the Rev. John Jordan officiating. Interment was in Fairview Cemetery, Culpeper.
