Dear Editor: Two separate and unrelated articles on your front page last week were quite revealing. The picture showing Dorothy Davis working with Boothe to defeat Young Harry and the article reporting that Dee Parish will serve as Finance Chairman for the Rappahannock Republicans unraveled the meaning of a cryptic message that I have been receiving on correspondence from the Richmond area. Whenever I made inquiry as to the meaning, I was told that I would understand in due time. Thanks to your issue of last week I now know the significance of the message, "The Byrd cage is at last open and the birds are beginning to fly.“
Their wings seem to be strong enough and maybe mine will be, too.
