The backing of the students was at leastpartly responsible for Ferrunrs undefeated football team which went onto win the National Junior College title at Savannah. Early In the season a rock was dug up adjacent to the football field, bleached with sulphuric acid, and aptly named, “the Rock that will go to Georgia.* Each week Brown etched the previous Saturday's score, and the Rock became a symbol of the national championship.
