Accident Fatal to
Huntly Pedestrian
A 19-year-old youth of Huntly, Va. died Sunday night in University of Virginia Hospital, Charlottesville of injuries sustained Sunday afternoon when he was struck by an automobile as he crossed the highway near his home. The victim was George Davis Williams, who came down a bank and crossed the road on Route 522, two miles north of Huntly. He was struck by a motorist, Mrs. Helen Hawkins Dick of Front Royal, according to Trooper W. A. Buntin. Williams was reportedly blind in his right eye, the direction from which the vehicle was approaching, said Mr. Buntin. Williams was taken to Warren Memorial Hospital, Front Royal by the rescue squad of that city and i m m e d ia te 1 y transferred to the Charlottesville hospital where he died at 10:05 p.m. Obituary inside.
Ernest Eubank of Washington wap not injured when he struck a cow on Route 522 a half mile north of Flint Hill on Saturday, July 9. The animal, owned by Everett Cartwright of Falls Church, was killed. Damage to the Eubank vehicle, a 63 Oldsmobile, was estimated at $250 and the cow was valued at $125, according to investigating officer W. A. Buntin.
