The gourds that Suzy grew in her garden last year were used for ornamente in the house right up until Thanksgiving. By then their colors had faded so she carefully put them away to dry because she had in mind another use for them. Now she has taken them out and is busily making a wind bell from one of them. It’s very easy to do. With a sharp knife she cut off the bottom of the gourd evenly all around. Then she scraped out the dry seeds. That left a shell for the wind bell.
