Dog Show Scheduled
Sunday in Amissville
A fun match dog show is planned for Sunday, July 17 at Dondar Farm, Amissville, now owned by Mr. and Mrs. Don Strawser. The show will .include* classes in sporting, non-sporting breeds, toy breeds, working breeds, hounds and terriers. Obedience trials will also be a feature in addition to demonstrations in training by Culpeper 4-H’ers and tracking with a German Shepherd under the skillful hands of Deputy Sheriff Luther Cox of Fauquier County. Entries for the show will be taken from 12 noon of that day and judging begins at 2 p.m. An entry fee of $1 per dog will be charged. Miss Joan Blanco of Richmond will judge the sporting, non-sporting and toy breeds. Judging the working breeds, hounds and terriers will be Mrs. Ronald T. Lawrence of Culpeper and Edward Cousins of Falls Church is the judge in the obedience trials. Anyone interested in forming a breed club or in show handling or obedience training is asked to contact Kennels of Indra, Rt. 1 Box 246, Amissville or phone 937-3051.
The Strawser farm is located on Route 639 just east of Amissville and was formerly the Hunsaker place. Those attending are advised to bring a picnic lunch for food will not be available on the grounds. Proceeds for the show will go to Hope School, Warrenton, a school being established for the mentally retarded,
