Sperryville firemen will open their annual carnival next Wednesday, July 12 and it will continue through Saturday night, the 15. Among activities scheduled is a mammouth parade Thursday evening with well over a hundred units entered. The parade begins at 7 p.m. EDT. Parade entries include majorette, groups and individuals, bands, comics, fire and rescue equip m e n t , floats, and many others. Wilderness Area
A delegation from' Madison and Rappahannock Counties met in the offices of Senator Harry F. Byrd, Jr., last Thurs day, by appointment, together with Rep. John O. Marsh who made a special effort to be present, for discussion of the proposed Wilderness Area in Shenandoah National Park. Present from Madison were James C. Graves, chairman of the Madison County Planning Commission; David F. Berry representing the Madison County Supervisors at their re quest; Sheriff Carroll E. Lillard, and Roy Strickler. Rappahannock had a group of four; Lee Thornton, Maurice O’Bannon, Mr. A. Y. Stokes and Mr. H. B. Wood. Jr.
