A special meeting of the Rap pahannock County Board of Supervisors was held Monday, July 17 and the primary topic was a compulsory school attendance law for the county.
The Rappahannock County School Board had recommend ed by resolution to the Board of Supervisors of the county that a compulsory school attendance law be adopted. The following ordinance has been proposed for adoption at the Apgust meeting of the Supervisors on Friday the 4th.
Compulsory school attenaance--Be it ordained by the Board of Supervisors of Rappahannock County, Virginia that Title 22, Chapter 12, Article 4 (Section 22-275.1 through Section 22-275.25) of the 1950 Code of Virginia, as amended, providing for the compulsory attendance of children between the ages of seven and sixteen in the schools specified in said Act, shall from and after September 1, 1967, be in full force and effect within the County of Rappahannock, Virginia.
