bince ms retirment in iyoo after 40 years as head of the Music Department of Bridgewater College, Dr. Huffman has organized this large choral group of men from a wide area, trained them, and directed their impressive perj formances. The growing popu-i larity of the group was evi-J denced last E aster Sunday ! night when a thousand people I jammed a large high school' auditorium with a seating capacity of only 600. Dr. Nelson T. Huffman grad uated from Bridgewater College with the degree of Bachelor of Arts. He is also a graduate of Peabody Conservatory of Music of Balti more. He holds the Bachelor of Music degree from the Cin cinnati Conservatory and the Master of Music degree from Northwestern University. Since 1940 he has had charg^ of the music at the famous Massanetta Bible Conference. Active in civic affairs, he served Bridgewater, Virginia as Mayor for three 2-year terms, and is a past president of the Bridgewater Rotarv Club. For two consecutive years he conducted the College Glee Club in concerts given in Con-; stitution Hall, Washington, D. C., and received highest praise from the critics thrugh the Washington news papers. >• He ^snjoyfe S widd£4*id substantial reputation as soloist and director of music. For a number of years he has been director of music in citywide preaching missions in many Southern cities including Norfolk, Virginia, Wheel ing, W. Va., Spartanburg, South Carolina and Bristol, Tennessee. He has also ren dered outstanding service as director of music in many national meetings of business organizations and his own Church Conference. The Sunset Vespers Service Association extends a cordial invitation to the public to attend this inspiring musical service this coming Sunday evening at the Luray Sing ing Tower. Charles T.
