I his ordinance will be pertinent to children in the future and is in no way intended to correct situations of the past. In substance, if there is a child 12 years of age who has never been to school, he or ‘she will not be forced to enter a first grade class with six or seven year olds. This Iwould make an impossible situation for both students and teacher alike. However, if ordinance is adopted, a seven year old child who is not enrolled in school the first of the 67-68 term must be enrolled or good cause shown by parents why he or she is not.

The Amissville Ladies Auxiliary held its regular July meeting last week with 14 members present. Plans for the annual carnival scheduled for August 9 through 12 were formulated. A White Elephant stand will be a feature of the carnival so anyone who has an item which they would like to donate may contact Mrs. Ralph H. Rowzie or Mrs. Mary Suter.
