Elects Officers
Officers of Sperryville Volunteer Fire Department which were elected at the August meeting held Tuesday evening are: president, Robert F. Estes; Chief, John Walker Jenkins; 1st assistant chief, John Eubank, Jr.;' 2nd assistant chief, George E. Jenkins; treasurer, Donald Gore; secretary, Raymond Johnson; lieutenant, Jimmy Wayland; captain, Robert Racer; engineer, Bobby Wilson Atkins; chaplain, the Rev. William Harrison. Directors chosen were James W. Fletcher, John Walker Jenkins, Raymond Johnson, Robert F. Estes and Charles H. Estes. The Sperryville Fire Company is celebrating its 20th anniversary, being organized in August of 1947.
