Mr*. James Kerns and two sons of Charlottesville are spending this week with her brother-in-law and sister Mr. and Mrs. George Lawrence. Mrs. Johnnie Jackson and daughters of Annandale will be overnight guests Friday of the Lawrence family. Mrs. Paul Smith is a patient in the Culpeper Memorial Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Burner returned home Saturday after a week’s vacation in Cape May, N J. and Lancaster, Pa. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Schroeder of Baltimore, Md. were guests for the day Sunday of her mother Mrs. Ida Holmes. Mrs. Ethel Hoehn of Baltimore is spending this week with her mother Mrs. Holmes. Billy Holmes was a visitor during the weekend of Mrs. Holmes returning to Pompano Beach, Fla. on Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Elliott are the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Andrews. Mr. Elliott has just retired after 30 years service with the U. S. Army and they will make their home in Durham, N. C. Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Payne accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Giles of Warrenton, attended a Scout service Friday evening at Camp Rock Enon, Gore, Va. where Billy Payne was spending the week. The Rev. and Mrs. Fletcher Osborne attended a homecoming service Sunday at Rehoboth Methodist Church in Caroline County. Enroute home they visited the Rev. and Mrs. Norman Flythe at Paytes. Sunday evening visitors of the Osbornes were the Rev. and Mrs. S.W.T. Hedricks of Mt. Jackson and Mrs. Effie Youngman and her sister of Arlington. Mr. and Mrs. Jackson Swain visited the Osbornes Friday evening. Miss Beverly Powell of Hern don arrived Tuesday to spend the remainder of the week as the guest of Miss Susan Latham at the home of Mrs. Sarah Latham. Mrs. Mary Collins, Mrs. Fannie McQuinn and John Hackley of Arlington were 'dinner guests Thursday of Mr. and Mrs. John Tapp, j Todd McNemar of Culpeper spent last week with Mr. and Mrs. G. E. Doyle. He returned home Sunday with his parents Mr. and Mrs. Leslie McNemar who were visitors of the Doyles. Mrs. Sandra Todd of Fairfax was a dinner guest Sunday of the Doyles and was accompanied home by her daughter Candy who spent the weekend with the Doyles. Mr. and Mrs. Johnie Hackley, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Ingram and Faye Burner spent Sunday in Richmond and visited Mr. and Mrs. Robert Haymaker and children Robbie and Mike.
