Local Scouts Attend
District Camporee
The Fall Camporee of all Boy Scouts of Shenrapawa District of which Rappahannock is a part was held at the Bing Crosby Stadium in Front Royal on September 23 and 24. The theme of the camporee was “Scouting Rounds a Guy Out“, and this theme was presented in a very inspiring fashion at the campfire service. The Scout Law was brought to life in pageantry by the Scouts while a narrator gave the twelve points of the law. Attending the camporee were approximately 208 Scout6 and 25 adult leaders which included 5 Scouts and 2 Scouter6 frorp Rappahannock County. They were Andy Nichols and Mike Foster of the recently re-activated Flint Hill Troop; Bill Stokes and Bobby Titchenell of the now inactive Sperryville Troop and Warren Beebe of the Amissville Troop. Scouters were Paul Nichols of the Flint Hill Troop and B. Gale Titchenell, Assistant District Commissioner for the county. The campfire service to which parents and guests were invited was attended by Mr. and Mrs. James Falls, Mrs. B. Gale Titchenell and Sue Titchenell. At this service Mr. Titchenell was awarded the Eagle Scout Award for having met all the requirements in addition to giving 20 years of service to the Scouting Program.
