Amissville Fire Company re sponded to a fire Thursday afternoon at the James Jenkins property where a chicken house burned. At the same time they received a call to a barn fire on Poe’s Road at the former Earl Putnam place This call was sent to Flint Hill and that company respond ed. Amissville was alerted to a fire at Ellen Smoot’s where an oil stove caused trouble. Amissville Rescue Squad took Robert McLean to Culpeper Memorial Hospital Monday morning. Rappahannock Rescue Squad, Washington, took Mrs. Reuben Smoot to the University of Virginia Hospital, Charlottesville Friday night. Sunday they responded to a call at Pauzes at Woodville.
